Похоже, что с этой memory hole вообще чертовщина какая-то.
Т.е. не memory hole, а black hole... В настройках биос
после временной установки дырки вернул, естественно, в
none. Решил ещё раз посмотреть, что там в /proc/meminfo.
Вот --
total: used: free: shared: buffers: cached:

Так вот -- если посчитать, 97615872 -- это не 96, а 93.09375MB.
Но разница с тем, что получается при установке дырки -- ровно
1MB. А вот в ДОСЕ -- ровно 96 и 95 соответственно (по mem'у).
