Мне трудно что-то про это сказать, поскольку с картой
я купил еще и PentiumIII-800 :). Xmms у меня практически
всегда играет, но загрузка от него не более 5%. Да и
WindowMaker у меня, а не KDE. Вот сейчас подвигал окошком --
никакой разницы :).

Хорошее 2D :), красивое. У меня монитор не держит

Лицензия? Ну качать и использовать можно. А что там
за тонкости... Не знаю, не вчитывался. Это на сайте при
закачке дают читать.
Matrox-овые драйвера, на мой субъективный взгляд, дольше
переключаются из консоли в графику.
