Значит так. Это действительно очень неудачное сочетание
и не только в смысле нвидовских последних драйверов под
линукс (в результате долгого обсуждения здешний народ и
я в том числе пришли к выводу, что драйвера 1251 не дружат
с сочетанием nVidia+VIA). А на самом деле проблема глубже
оказалась зарыта, подробности можно прочитать на

(только читайте всю статью внимательно).
Так что кому хочется иметь VIA, ищите другие карточки,
но только не на базе nVidia-чипсетов.
nVidia и VIA - "не друзья и братья" :-))))
