Способ борьбы очень прост - большинство Promise работает без извращений
но... только в последних ядрах. В инсталляторе же ядро старое :-(( Так
что, видимо, стоит установиться через обычный контроллер, а после
установки перевесить винт на Promise, установив предварительно новое ядро.
С извращениями мне удавалось запустить как Ultra, так и FastTrack Promise
(на ядре из инсталлятора), но скорость работы винтов на них не превышала
2Мб/с. Кстати, можно еще попробовать загрузочные дискеты из подкаталога
experimental из Spring.
