Hello mandrake-russian,
Вот такая ситуация: имеется шлюз в интернет. Попутно она нем крутится
почта, днс, веб и считается трафик. Сейчас там стоит P133 - даже не
ММХ. Посколько база, в которую трафик складывается растет - уже
стали заметны тормоза при выводе статистики (она выводится у клиента
в браузере). Чистить ее не хотелось бы, поэтому встал вопрос о
покупке нового камня. Мать - Асус SP98AGP-X Mainboard .
Максимально держит P233 либо K6-PR300. На сайте асуса в последней
версии биоса заявлена поддержка K6-2.
В свзязи с чем 2 вопроса:
1. Какой все-таки максимально камень держит данная мать (поскольку
"заявлена поддержка k6-2" - сами понимаете, не слишком точная
информация).
2. Надо ли специально оптимизировать пакеты под K6, или "так
сойдет" :).
Или не выпендриваться и взять "простой" Р233. Насколько он
производительней?

Сойдёт.

На целочисленных операциях K6-2 будет пошустрее Pentium-а той же частоты.
На плавающей точке - отстанет.
