Скрипт smb в init.d содержит следующее:
# Source networking configuration.
# Check that networking is up.
# Check that smb.conf exists.
SourceIfNotEmpty /etc/sysconfig/network && [ "$NETWORKING" != no ] && [ -s /etc/smb.conf ] || exit
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
testparm требует наличия smb.conf в /etc/samba:
$testparm
Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf
Если прописать /etc/samba/smb.conf в init.d/smb,
то скрипт работает, а иначе молча выходит.
версии samba:
samba-common-2.2.1-alt4
samba-client-2.2.1-alt4
samba-2.2.1-alt4
