А чтобы не писать Makefile руками для каждого проекта, существует
генератор Makefile'ов automake. Который хорошо сопрягается с набором скриптов
настройки на особенности системы под названием autoconf и
скриптом для обобщенной поддержки динамических библиотек libtool.
