tetex из Spring встраивает в PS все PS-шрифты, которые есть в
системе. Многие шрифты, например английские постскриптовские CM,
поставляются вместе с tetex'ом. Дополнительные шрифты можно
подключить самому, лично я подключил Nimbus-* из дистрибутива.
Правда, для этого пришлось сильно исправить "карты" шрифтов для
dvips. Про все это написано в info dvips. pdfTeX у меня не вставил в
PDF'ку Nimbus'ы, но все остальное смотрелось под виндой просто
отлично и в Линуксе при помощи gv. Полученный из Distiller'а PDF
из PS, созданного в TeX'е со встроенными Nimbus тоже везде легко
смотрелся.
