Опция -e <n> спасет
Она говорит завершать сеанс связи с pop3 сервером после каждых n сообщений.
Крайний случай --- поставить -e 1 тогда ни одно сообщение повторно
скачивать не придется, но это будет оччччень медленно.
Я в свое время ставил -e 5 и был весьма доволен.
