Если CD-Writer правильно настроен (ядру передан параметр hdd=ide-scsi),
/dev/hdd не может работать как устройство CD-ROM, так что монтироваться
таким образом он и не должен. CD-ROM в этом случае слежует искать на
устройстве /dev/scd0, т.е. он будет выглядеть как SCSI. Можно поправить
ссылку /dev/cdrom на /dev/scd0.
А для проверки как CD-Writer лучше сначала попробовать cdrecord -scanbus
под рутом.
