При обычном, неаварийном, сохраняет :)
При kernel panic - не всегда, иногда теряет ее :(
Но, я думаю, это связано с reiserfs и ее откатами транзакций (?).

я только что оттяпала у Win 2 Гб для Linux, так что места ему пока хватает
