А named(8) и named.conf(5) не пробовали?

В /usr/share/doc/bind-* есть масса документации по DNS вообще и bind в
частности.

Посмотрите файл /etc/named.conf --> /var/named/etc/named.conf,
там указано (относительно chroot), где что расположено.

chrooted environment для bind находится в
/var/lib/named-root --> /var/named
