Вы поставили Grub на /dev/hda3, а надо было в MBR.
Поставьте в MBR.

С Lilo, если его поставить на раздел, а не в MBR было
бы то же самое.

А тут непонятно.
Если обновлять пакет mozilla (rpm -Uvh
mozilla<vers>.altN.rpm или apt с аналог.) , то в
общем-то оно ничего не спрашивает и из /usr/bin ничего
не сносит...
