Сидиромы Spring не проиндексированы для apt-get. Будет пытаться закачать всё.
И все же древовидное представление с различными возможностями сортировки, возможность выбрать группу (или несколько групп) и посмотреть их содержимое пока не позволяют назвать synaptic заменой rpmdrake.

Synaptic это графический front-end для apt-get и ничего более.
