Загружается, но по другому.
/etc/sysconfig/harddisk/hdN
Вот, к примеру мой /etc/sysconfig/harddisk/hda (UDMA включен и так):
MULTIPLE_IO=16
EIDE_32BIT=3
EXTRA_PARAMS=-u1S242
Только не принимайте это на веру, "задранные" значения чреваты крахом ФС, возможно на всех разделах.
