По-моему, для bash, срубаемого с помощью сигнала TERM (что происходит
при выключении X с открытым терминалом или при shutdown/poweroff),
естественно не пытаться записать историю. exit - другое дело, тут
можно подойти обстоятельно. Хотя, на этот счет могут существовать опции.
