Здравствуйте mandrake-russian,
Вопрос: с fstab разобрался вроде немного, но не пойму все же почему
у меня не монтируется дискета, которую отформатировал под ext2, хотя
через linuxconf монтируется. Как называется программа по
форматированию дискет, а то я заново ставил линукс и видимо ее не
установил, а название не помню.

Не монтируется скорее всего потому, что неправильно указали тип файловой
системы, примонтируйте командой mount вручную и впишите параметры в
/etc/fstab.
Программы fdformat, mkfs, mkdosfs.
