Проблема-т на самом деле есть.
По умолчанию теперь в настройка прописано перезванивать при разрыве связи
через 60? секунд. Так вот в период ожидания этих 60 секунд ничего с
интерфейсом сделать нельзя. на ifup говорит, что он уже up, ifdown просто
молчит. Можно либо уменьшить RETRYTIMEOUT (что я и сделал), либо убивать
ppp-watch.
