Здравствуйте mandrake-russian,
Я новичок и как и полагается таковому запустил не задумываясь
chmod 666 /dev/*
После этого kde грузится только под root-ом, а как обычный
пользователь появляется только голубой экран, крестик и тишина.
Помогите, пожалуйста, а то переустанавливать заново все не хочется.

Не далее как вчера мне помогло
# rpm -Uvh --replacefiles --replacepkgs dev
выполненное из каталога с пакетами.
А вы вообще пробовали сначала поработать, а потом chmod 666 /dev/* ?
