Осеня интересно однако!!!
Моя ситуация такова:
ATAPI ZIP, hdd4
Вставляем дискетку...
прекрасно работает....
Жмём на кнопочку.... Ноль эмоций.
sudo umount /mnt/zip - диск отстреливается.
Попробую-ка я поэксперементировать с ide-scsi...

Аналогично :)

Жмём на кнопочку. В 90% случаев - дискетка отстреливается
Вставляем следующую ... и.т.д
Не знаю существенно ли это - при установке в ZIP была дискета
