Hello!
Сабж вместо русских букв показывает знаки вопроса.
Гном - самосборный, сабж - скаченный в i586.rpm
В чем может быть проблема?
Система, на которой все это видится - давно в детстве была 7.0RE, а сейчас
скорее смахивает на Сизифа. :-)

Это нормально,если в меню буквы русские. Решение описано в
файле README.last в корне дистрибутива:
-- выбрать в меню ромбик (или кружочек), далее Настройки,
выберите какой-либо из шрифтов Nimbus.
