Каждый решает для себя сам.
Лично я не люблю, когда программа конфигурации делает все по-своему,
игнорируя мое мнение.
Пожалуй, остановлюсь на этом, пока не поздно. :)

Пакет linuxconf непосредственно требуется для следующих пакетов:
pppoe-linuxconf
drakprofile
gnome-linuxconf
Если ни один из вышеперечисленных пакетов у Вас не установлен, то пакет
linuxconf можно не устанавливать.
