Э-э-э, а можно вопрос?
Какая скорость порта у порта и какая у мудема?
"Особенностей" и умолчаний сей железки я не знаю, но
могу дать hint - воспользоваться Minicom для установки
параметров железяки и отладки соединения до connect.

Да нет, там тонкость именно в том, что параметры недокументированы.
Так что для ZyXel Omni 128L, лучше воспользуйтесь результатом
наших настроек, которые уже месяцев 8 живут нормально. Мы тогда убили
три дня на массированное тестирование и настройку, вплоть до исследования
закрытого сайта ZyXel для дистрибьюторов.
