Мне кажется, что такой способ не совсем правильный, поэтому хочу спросить, как делают разработчики?
По-разному. Я делаю так:
$ cp старый_kernel_custom.config новый_kernel_custom.config
$ diff -u старый_kernel_secure.config новый_kernel_secure.config >kernel_secure.diff
$ patch новый_kernel_custom.config <kernel_secure.diff

Я скачиваю src.rpm и сразу делаю custom ядро, однако, чтобы получить kernel-headers и kernel-source мне нужно делать два ядра: CUSTOM и BOOT_UP. Зачем мне два ядра? У меня и так старое есть. Может все-таки разрешить сборку kernel-headers и kernel-source при сборке только custom?
Что-нибудь придумаю.
