/sbin/sfdisk -luS /dev/hdX
где X - имя того диска, о котором идет речь,
попробую помочь.
кстати, Вы за это время загружали win*?
У вас есть 100% уверенность, что там не живут вирусы?

Это вряд ли - я за последние несколько дней много подобных действий
совершал, с разными дисками, и никаких проблем не испытывал.
