Демон anacron поможет...
Он запускает "забытые" задачи.
Авторам дистрибутива:
В ежедневной крон-задаче стоит, точнее стояло slocate с рядом ключей.
Мне кажется более правильным запуск updatedb - это всё-таки
конфигурируемая штука...
Например: поиск в иерархии /mnt мне не нужен абсолютно, запись же в
updatedb.conf поможет и кроновской задаче и ручному запуску.
