Добрый день! Имеется девайс, включающий в себя два сказевых диска,
они видятся как два диска, но fdisk говорит след:

fdisk /dev/sdb
Device contains neither a valid DOS partition table, nor Sun, SGI or OSF disklabel
Building a new DOS disklabel. Changes will remain in memory only,
until you decide to write them. After that, of course, the previous
content won't be recoverable.
 
Segmentation fault 

соответстввенно ничего не монтируется и не пашет :(

99% - ядро. У меня примерно такое же было, когда винты подключал - то
ядро не грузится, то еще как ерепенится.

Вылечилось уходом на 2.2.17.
Правда, у меня адаптековский контроллер был ...
