У vesafb режим зашит внутрь, поскольку стандарт VESA не имеет функций для
манипулирования частотами.
В atyfb ситуация наоборот -- он должен понимать внешние, но написание их
не по VESA, а как vmode:номер, номера указаны в /usr/src/linux/include/video/macmodes.h
