По-моему, да. Только надо сделать раздел / весь в пределах < 1024 или
отдельный /boot также < 1024.

И даже если бут дальше 1024 сектора, то все равно можно. ЛИЛО будет
ругаться, но ему надо будет сказать lilo -L. Мне подсказали и у меня
работает. Причем вполне достаточно версии ЛИЛО из РЕ7.0.
