Это я все к тому, что кроме однобайтовых кодировок и многобайтовой
UTF-8 существуют и другие многобайтовые, в частности те самые
"шовинистские" CJK. Впрочем, если в Stuphead будет внутреннее хранение
писем в Unicode (в представлении UTF-8, хотя UCS-2 для внутреннего представления
удобнее и проще -- всегда два байта на букву, вне зависимости от языка),
то внешние кодировки будут уже делом десятым -- iconv отлично с ними
справляется.
