Здравствуйте!
Подскажите пожалуйста можно ли и каким образом на Promise Fasttrak TX
2000 обратиться к SMART информации винчестеров (оба винта находятся в
RAID - mirror). При попытке обратиться с помощью утилиты smartmotools
(smartctl) возникает сообщение об ошибке:

A mandatory SMART command failed: exiting. To continue, add one or more '-T permissive' options.
Разумеется запуск с ключом "-T" дела не меняет.
Подскажите есть ли возможные способы выяснения состояния SMART, а то
приходится для определения температуры харда приклеивать к нему
вольтметр с термопарой.
Да если возможно - поясните... Читая списки рассылки altlinux.ru я
столкнулся с массой сообщений где критиковались RAID на основе promise
в частности их зеркалирование (имеется в виду разумеется именно
Fasttrak). Подскажите почему вы не любите эти RAID массивы и чем по
вашему мнению софтовые (в линухе разумеется) лучше хардовых.
