Отвечаю сам себе, дабы закрыть тему, ибо победил. Всё-таки поставился
у меня RE. Соль оказалась в том, что нужно использовать первый адрес
канала как есть, второй - на 2 больше, чем возвращает w2k. Тогда
каналы ide определяются и диски на них видно. Кстати, про эту фишку
вычитал в FAQ по прикручиванию Ultra33 к Linux.
Теперь предстоит возня с прикручиванием GeForce2MX, поскольку не
поддерживается он - старовата система.
