Дистрибутив ALM2.2, ядро 2.4.20 - стандартное.
Настроил kppp, запускаю из консоли и он мне пишет:

Kernel supports ppp alright.

It was pppd that died
pppd exited with return value 5

Что значит не может найти устройство ppp0?
При всем при этом kppp нормально коннектится, авторизация
проходит успешно, в общем подключились, но статистика показывает
что исходящие пакеты в сеть идут, а вот входящих было лишь 32 и
больше не идут.
Команда ifconfig в подключенном состоянии выдает следующее:

А в /var/log/messages пишется следующее (точно не помню, по
памяти):
[pppd]: Can't find module ppp0
Как исправить? Есть информация что нужно создать устройство ppp0
командой mknod, но как это правильно сделать?
P.S. Скриптами звонил - та же история, коннект и ничего не
грузиться.
