Извините, если пропустил обсуждавшееся уже... но просто поставил ещё одну машину, и в очередной раз пришлось выпрямлять одни и те же грабли.
Так вот - а почему бы, собственно, не модифицировать строчку КД-ПЗУ в fstab:
/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom subfs fs=cdfss,nosuid,nodev,noexec,users,iocharset=utf8 0 0
Имея в виду два последних параметра... Раз уж utf8 идёт дефолтно? Да и юзеры прибегают сразу же - не могут отмонтировать... почему бы не писать users по умолчанию?
