А COM1 случайно не распаян на плате-то? Мож лучше 3?
А I/O правильно выставлен для соотв. COM?
А что в /var/log/dmesg касаемо портов?

там нет СОМ3 только 0 и 1

по дефолту обычно 4 для СОМ1 ( хотя я и 3 тоже ставил)

если в биосе включить СОМ1
то
/dev/ttyS0 0x3F8 irq 4 и что то про 16500
если выключить то ничего
СОМ2 вообще отключен ( у меня никого нет на СОМ портах)
