Это, батенька, всё кодировка. Точно так же Вы не смогли бы на
английском Windows открыть файлы с русскими именами. И стереть тоже.
Не пробовал ставить экспериментальную кодировку 1251 в Линуксе при
установке, поэтому об этом пусть более опытные люди Вам пишут.
Теоретически - должно сработать.
