Решил тут скормить этому самому скрипту небольшую коллекцию свежего спама (~1200 шт., ~11M)
и бросил ее одним письмом. За ночь amavis съел весь var-раздел - к
счастью, в виртуальной машинке (спасибо упавшему squid'у за быстрое
обнаружение проблемы ;-))

Только там говорится об аттачментах, а файлом на самом деле считается
каждая часть multipart-сообщения (т.е. каждое письмо в html+text+gif=3
файла).
