Hello mandrake-russian,
и все-таки, как ifconfig считает полученные и переданные байты ?
настроил самбу, залил 4 гига, он показал 1250 Mb.
залил еще 3 гига - сейчас кажет 250 Mb.
сервер не перегружался. как можно объяснить эту ситуацию ?
может ли на это влиять драйвер сетевой карты ? Еще что-то ?

А попробуйте залить по ftp или nfs....
А вышлите плиз полный вывод ifconfig.
