лежит статья, подробно обсуждающая установку на устройства, не
поддерживаемые ядром инсталлятора и, возможно, дистрибутива.
Может поможет (правда, нужна вспомогательная машина).
Альтернатива -- временно подключить будущий корневой диск к on
board контроллеру, установить, обновить ядро и пошаманить:(
