Мать Intel S875WP1-E
(http://www.intel.com/design/servers/s875wp1-e/). Там Promise SATA
RAID. Я его отключил в биосе, дабы поставить альт на ide, пересобрать
ядро с поддержкой sata и затем перенести полученую систему на raid.
(Кстати возможно ли это или я где-то чего-то недопонял?)

Никак. Свежекупленная машина.

Поставил IDE винт и CD-ROM. Гружусь с сиди, получаю кернел паник. Сюдя
по логу винт находится нормально. Попробовал загрузится с Fedora Core,
все в порядке, все грузится.
