я тоже пробовал, только на ATI 9600XT, ATI 9200SE, ATI X600pro
нигде он не заработал.
а когда поставил Geforce mx400 и когда альт сам определил дрова, после
чего перед стартом KDE появляется заставка nVidia то всё работает.
