У меня, представьте, тоже. Но из Linux, установленного в vmware 4.0, она
видна именно так. Может в 5.х они ее на что-то другое поменяли ?
Сомнительно, но возможно. Или у вас vmware какой-то урезанный. Или
Network Adapter в конфигурации не включен.

По-моему, там сетевой карты я не видел. Хотя может просто пропустил. В
любом случае инсталлятор (с чего-то вы же ставились первоначально ?)
разберется в этом лучше. И что, во время установки Linux не определилась
никакая сетевая карта ?
