Спасибо, посмотрю. Кстати, в гноме вчера специально
попробовал: запускал проги и т.д. и получил в конце концов
нормальное поведение. При уменьшении свободной памяти до ~5М
начинал сбрасываться кэш диска (~175M к этому моменту), в
результате размер свободной физической памяти не уменьшался
(кажется, даже увеличивался), а в конце концов после
выгрузки "лишних" приложений стал около 50%. В KDE пока не
пробовал.
