В общем, ситуация сдвинулась с мертвой точки. Модем откликается при 4
порту и 4 прерывании + включенной Plug&play OS. Но идут тормоза при
вводе текста в mini-term. Очевидно конфликтец все-таки есть. В пользу
этого говорит так же то, что после пары перезвонов звонилка думает на
стадии initializing modem.
Если выключить опцию plug&play os в бивисе, то имеем ту же картину,
только + к этому не загружается модуль emu10k. Пробовал насильно в
биосе назначать прерывания...не помогло. Хорошо, что хоть вообще модем
откликается... Не совсем понятно почему при любых прерываниях он не
работает на 3-ем порту, хотя в виндозе все в порядке. Есть идеи какие
-нибудь? pnpdump вообще ничего не находит.

Тоже интересно выходит. Мышь воткнута в первый порт. Если выключить
ВТОРОЙ порт, то мыша в Линуксе отрубается. Если выключить первый
оставить второй - тоже.В виндозе не пробовал...
Мать ASUS на BX.

При любых прерываниях выставленных джамперами модема при загрузке
прерывания в dmesg пишутся прежние
ttyS1=3
ttyS2=4
ttyS3=3
