Доброго времени суток!
Итак, озаботился hibernate-ом (по просьбам трудящихся - да и самому интересно!).
Ставлю для этого ядро 2.6.11-wks26-up-alt4 - то, что в репозитории лежит, апт-гет-ом. Ставлю им же модули, в том числе и nvidia. В результате имею:
Error: API mismatch: the NVIDIA kernel module is version 1.0.7174, but
this X module is version 1.0.7676. Please be sure that your kernel
module and all NVIDIA driver files have the same driver version.
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel module!
В архиве рассылки набрёл на похожую проблему - там предлагалось использовать
/etc/X11/drv.d/nvidia -v
ldconfig
Но не помогло. Что делать, чтобы модуль nvidia заработал?
Пока до hibernate руки не дошли, но спрашиваю сразу:
В ФАК-е написано, что для того, чтобы не пропадал звук, надо освободить все звуковые устройства перед засыпанием - "например, завершив сеанс". Вопрос: а есть ли другие примеры? Ведь, собственно, главное преимущество hibernate в том, чтобы не запускать каждый раз всё заново для работы (когда в браузере открыто 5 вкладок, в офисе несколько документов, несколько шеллов, другие программы в нужном состоянии находятся). А если завершать сеанс, то время, затраченное на hibernate, может в результате оказаться бОльшим, чем если бы просто по-человечески выключать компьютер...
