Пытаюсь ставить VNC-server. Увы, без того чтобы найти libutempter он не
хочет ставиться! Вопрос: подойдут ли какие-нибудь libutempter'ы со стороны,
или надо обязательно Альтистско-линуксовский?

Нет, с другими - unresolved symbols :( Так что только от ALTLinux, в
Сизифе он есть

Да, спасибо. Действительно появился. Свеженький. Видимо, я попал на момент
когда старого уже не было а нового еще не появилось. "Новолуние"
libutempter'а.
