Привет всем!
Хочу поставить imap-server для Сизифа, на машину постоянно включенную в
сеть, чтобы пользоваться ею как почтовым сервером мог из нескольких мест я
сам и мои друзья и родственники.
Вот присматриваюсь к uw-imap серверу.
До сих пор использовал Xmail, он выполнял функции Smtp и Pop3 сервера.
Вопрос: можно ли uw-imap использовать с любым (в моем случае Xmail) SMTP
сервером, или он может работать только с некоторыми типа sendmail'а? И как
их друг с другом стыкуют?
Я вообще сейчас искал-искал в описании протоколов POP3 и IMAP как
соотвествующие сервера могут получать снаружи почту для локальных ими
обслуживаемых пользователей - и ничего не нашел. Такое впечатление что эта
почта к ним должна приходить чудесным образом, по крайней мере не
регламентированным протоколами. Так ли это?
