Раньше в домен под этим именем заходили? Если нет, то возможна ругань на знак
доллара в имене. Кроме того, в команде добавления пользователя должно быть:
smbpasswd -m -a 'master$' (обычные апострофы)
иначе оболочка попытается оттранслировать знак доллара.
