Добрый день!
Проблема вчера ночью успешно решилась.
Дело было, видимо, в ядре, т.к. после установки версии 2.4.7 все собралось и
запустилось за 5 минут.
Что я делал после установки всех необходимых пакаджей:
1. Положил скачанные с сайта nvidia .tar.gz ядерного модуля и драйвера иксов
в /usr/src/RPM/SOURCES
2. Скачал с
ftp.altlinux.ru/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/Sisyphus/unsupported/SRPS
kernel-nvidia-1.0.1251-alt6.nosrc.rpm
и nvidiaGL-1.0.1251-alt5.nosrc.rpm
3. rpm -i kernel-nvidia-1.0.1251-alt6.nosrc.rpm
rpm -i nvidiaGL-1.0.1251-alt5.nosrc.rpm
4. cd /usr/src/RPM/SPECS
rpm -bb kernel-nvidia-1.0.1251.spec
rpm -bb nvidiaGL-1.0.1251.spec
5. su - root
6. cd /usr/src/RPM/RPMS/i686
rpm -Uvh kernel-nvidia-1.0.1251-alt6.i686.rpm
rpm -Uvh nvidiaGL-1.0.1251-alt5.i686.rpm
7. insmod NVdriver
После этого я стал редактировать /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, добавил в секцию
Modules Load "glx" и сменил драйвер в секции Device с nv на nvidia.
После этого все завелось.
