Да мы пока в самом начале.
Но думаю, направление верное.
LDAP - открытый стандарт,позволяет хранить не только пользователей/пароли, но
и много другой информации (домены. /etc/networks,/etc/services, /etc/groups ,
etc ).
Опять же иерархическая структура, распределенная база, репликации и т.д.
С ностальгией вспоминаю времена, когда админил NetWare 4.x. Вот где удобство
для админа.Песня. Думаю, как бы подобное сделать с LDAP.
Кстати, кому не хватает обычных юниксовых прав на файлы и каталоги -
посмотрите в сторону Linux Trustees (trustees.sourceforge.net).
Это патч к ядру. Сделал его В. Завадский .Ставиться поверх VFS уровня.
Позволяет задавать права на каталоги/подкаталоги/файлы по маске, для
конкретных пользователей, групп, исключения и т.д.
Если эту систему прикрутить к LDAP, почти Novel получиться.
Это тоже одно из направлений моих усилий.
